Deer Farming, Cottage Rentals, Restaurant, and Farm Shop

In the mountain birch forest 800 meters above sea level, between Grövelsjön and Elgå, lies Valdalen gård, where Martin and Lena live and work. Valdalen has been operated as a tourist farm since 1946, founded by Martin’s parents. Several cottages and a guesthouse are available for rent, as a restaurant that seats 40 guests. In addition to cottage rentals and the restaurant, they run a farm and deer breeding operation with about 70 deer in large enclosures. The restaurant serves various types of venison, such as venison burgers and sausages, as well as other local products, including different game meats and fish. They have their eggs from quails and chickens and make their jam from berries picked in the area. Valdalen Farm offers catering and has a small farm shop to buy venison, whitefish, and trout.
