Renbiten
Reindeer Products, Experiences, and Shop
At Renbiten, you can experience Sami traditions through guided tours, storytelling, and culinary experiences. Sweden’s southernmost Sami village is in Idre, and Renbiten is in Grövelsjön, run by Peter and Helena with their family. Here, reindeer herding is combined with product processing, various activities, and their shop. Renbiten offers activities such as hiking with tame reindeer, lectures, and taste experiences through the eight seasons, as well as overnight stays in a Sami tent (kåta).
The shop sells its reindeer products, locally produced delicacies such as elk and wild-caught fish, Sami crafts, and interior decorations. Environmental sustainability, quality, and the Sami culture are essential throughout the entire process, and Renbiten holds two certifications as proof of their commitment to sustainability. Their meat is sold to stores and restaurants in Idre and their shops in Idre and Falun. Renbiten has received several prestigious awards for their work and has hosted royal visits on multiple occasions.
