Handmade Chocolate and Gelato

Just south of Sälen village is a chocolate factory run by Mattias and Mattias. Chocolate products and homemade gelato (Italian ice cream) are produced here. You can shop for chocolate products and other local goods or enjoy coffee. Sälen Chocolate was founded in 2020, and it is essential to them that the chocolate they use is sourced sustainably and that good working conditions are ensured from cocoa tree to finished product. Therefore, they choose to work with Swiss-quality chocolate and, as much as possible, locally produced ingredients. They make small quantities of pralines and chocolate, crafting them by molding, rolling, and dipping them according to traditional artisanal methods. The filling in the praline, called “ganache,” is created with their recipes based on pure ingredients, and some pralines are made with hand-picked berries from the mountains. They have several stores in the Sälen area.
