Old-fashioned Mountain Pature with Café

Below the steep slopes of Städjan, you can experience the mountain pasture Foskdalsvallen, whose origins date back to the 1600s. Farmer Stig lives on the pasture during the summer with his animals. Here, kids (young goats), several mountain cows, calves, chickens, and pigs graze freely on the summer mountain flora. During the summer, jônnbröd, coffee, and homemade baked goods are served, and freshly made messmör (pasture butter) is available. Jônnbröd is an old traditional dish from the area, similar to a type of waffle. The bread is grilled in a specially made iron with a beautifully intricate pattern. The warm jônnbröd is served with freshly made messmör and butter that melts nicely on the bread.Beef is sold to restaurants in the nearby area.
