Welcome to Trysil
In Trysil, you can find everything from mountains and vast forest areas to the Trysil River, Norway’s last river for timber floating until 1991. Trysil is one of Norway’s first sustainable destinations. Trysil has a long tradition of local specialties – how about dishes made from elk meat (Trysil is Norway’s largest elk municipality), pultost – a tangy cheese with caraway, beer from the local microbrewery, gluten-free locally baked pizza, or traditional stomp, a type of thicker local flatbread?
